Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: January 1, 2025
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using the Equine Education Foundation website (equineeducationfoundation.org) and any services offered therein, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our website or services. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, program participants, donors, and others who access or use our website.
2. Description of Services
Equine Education Foundation ("EEF") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides equine assisted psychotherapy (EAP) and related educational programs. Our website provides information about our programs, accepts donations, and facilitates inquiries. EEF reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of our services at any time.
3. Not a Substitute for Professional Medical Care
IMPORTANT: The information on this website is for general informational purposes only and does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Equine assisted psychotherapy is a complementary therapeutic approach and is not a substitute for professional medical care, psychiatric treatment, or emergency mental health services.
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, suicidal thoughts, or a medical emergency, please call 911 or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988) immediately. EEF's programs are not crisis intervention services.
4. Program Participation
4.1 Eligibility and Assessment
Participation in EEF programs requires completion of an intake assessment and may require referral from or coordination with a licensed mental health professional. EEF reserves the right to determine eligibility for participation based on clinical appropriateness and safety considerations.
4.2 Assumption of Risk
Equine activities involve inherent risks. All program participants (or their legal guardians, for minors) must sign a separate Informed Consent and Release of Liability Agreement prior to participating in any EEF program. By inquiring about or enrolling in our programs, you acknowledge awareness of these inherent risks.
4.3 Minor Participants
Participants under 18 years of age must have written consent from a parent or legal guardian. The consenting parent or guardian assumes responsibility for the minor's participation and must be present or available during sessions as required by EEF staff.
5. Donations and Financial Matters
5.1 Tax-Deductibility
EEF is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization. Donations may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Please consult your tax advisor regarding deductibility. EEF will provide donation receipts for tax purposes.
5.2 No Refund Policy for Donations
Donations to EEF are generally non-refundable. If you believe a donation was made in error, please contact us within 30 days at info@equineeducationfoundation.org and we will review your request on a case-by-case basis.
5.3 Program Fees and Accessibility
Program fees, if applicable, are established separately and communicated during the intake process. EEF works to make programs as accessible as possible through donor support, but cannot guarantee complimentary access to all participants. Fee arrangements are made on an individual basis based on available resources.
6. Intellectual Property

This website and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. EEF does not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, EEF, its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of this website or our services, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. EEF's total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to EEF in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless EEF and its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the website, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of our website shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Burlington County, New Jersey, except that either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.
12. Confidentiality of Therapeutic Information
EEF is committed to maintaining the confidentiality of all therapeutic relationships and participant information in accordance with applicable professional ethical standards and New Jersey law. Information shared in the context of therapeutic services will not be disclosed without participant consent, except as required by law (including mandatory reporting obligations) or to protect the safety of the participant or others.
13. Modifications to Terms
EEF reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the website with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
