Lives Changed at EEF
Real people. Real healing. The lasting impact of equine therapy extends far beyond the arena — into families, communities, and futures.

Finding Peace After Two Tours
Marcus served two tours in Iraq and came home to a war inside his own mind. For years, he tried traditional therapy, medication, and support groups — nothing stuck. A fellow veteran suggested EEF, and he came in skeptical.
"The first time I stood next to Ranger," Marcus recalls, "he just looked at me. Not through me, not past me — at me. And I felt something shift. He wasn't afraid of what I was carrying. He just... stayed."
Over the course of five sessions, Marcus developed tools for recognizing his triggers, regulating his nervous system, and communicating his needs to his family. Marcus' story is just one of thousands just like his.
"I came here to try something different. I left with my life back."

The Girl Who Found Her Voice
At nine years old, Sophie was diagnosed with severe anxiety. School was a daily ordeal. Her parents had tried play therapy, speech therapy, and medication. Then they found EAP.
"Willow didn't need Sophie to talk," explains her mother. "She just needed Sophie to be present. And somehow, in that space, Sophie found herself."
After twelve sessions, Sophie began speaking in class. By the end of the year, she gave a presentation to her entire grade. She is now thirteen, plays on her school's soccer team, and tells anyone who will listen that she wants to be a therapist when she grows up.
"Willow showed me I was brave. I just didn't know it yet."
— Sophie, age 13, NJ

Reclaiming Life After Trauma
After years of abuse, Diana found that traditional therapy felt like reliving the worst moments of her life without any way forward. "Every session left me more exhausted than before," she says.
Using the power of EAP, she didn't have to talk about what happened. She just had to show up. And the horses met her exactly where she was — not where she'd been, not where she was supposed to be.
Over six months, Diana rebuilt her sense of safety, learned to recognize and name her emotions, and rediscovered goals she'd abandoned years before. She recently enrolled in college for the first time.
"I came broken. I left with a future."
— Diana, Trauma Survivor, NJ
